Extract Images from PDF pulls the actual photos, logos and illustrations out of a PDF as separate files, instead of you taking a screenshot of the page. It is the quick way to get product photos out of a supplier catalogue, charts out of a report, or the logo files buried in a brand guidelines document.
Drop your PDF on the page, or choose it from your device, Google Drive, Dropbox or OneDrive (up to 260 MB). The tool looks through the first pages and tells you whether it found pictures. Choose which images you want: Skip tiny icons (the default, good for photos, logos and drawings), Large photos only for images 300 px and bigger, or Everything, which includes bullets and small icons. Press Extract images. A single image downloads on its own; several come together in a ZIP.
The two do different jobs. Extract Images from PDF gives you the pictures that were placed in the document, each as its own file at the size it was stored. PDF to JPG takes a picture of each whole page, text and all. If you want a slide or a page to post as an image, use PDF to JPG. If you want the photo that sits on page 12, extract it.
A scanned PDF is a stack of page photos, so extracting from it gives you one image per page, which is the scan itself. In digital PDFs, tiny and repeated images, such as a logo in every page header, are skipped with the default setting, and the result tells you how many were left out. After extracting, Compress Image or Resize Image will get the files ready for a website or a product listing.
