Compress Image makes JPG, PNG, WebP and HEIC photos much smaller so they upload faster, fit under a form's size limit and send quickly by email. You can compress several images at once and choose how far to go.
Drop one or more images on the page, or pick them from Google Drive, Dropbox or OneDrive. Choose a level: Smallest (for email and uploads), Recommended, or High quality (light compression). You can also save as JPG, WebP or PNG, cap the width at 2560, 1920 or 1280 pixels, and type a target size in kB, such as 200. Press Compress, then download the result, rename it, or send it on WhatsApp.
A job applicant squeezes a passport photo under a portal's 200 kB limit. An estate agent shrinks forty listing photos before they go on the website. A parent on a slow connection compresses holiday photos before sharing them in the family group.
Recommended keeps photos looking the same at a fraction of the size, and it's where most people should start. Smallest pushes harder and suits thumbnails and attachments. The width limit matters most for phone photos, which are often 4000 pixels wide or more: bringing them down to 1920 pixels saves far more space than compression alone.
If a PNG has no transparent areas, saving it as JPG or WebP makes it much smaller, and the tool tells you when that applies. If an image is already as small as it can get without looking worse, you get the original back unchanged.
On a website, heavy images are one of the main reasons pages load slowly, and page speed affects both visitors and search rankings. Compressing before you upload is one of the easiest fixes. For email, a 300 kB photo goes through where a 6 MB one might bounce.
