Image Enhancer is a free image quality enhancer that fixes light, colour and sharpness in a photo, and can upscale a small picture to two or four times its size. Use it to rescue a dim photo from a family dinner, make a blurry scan of a letter easier to read, or enlarge a tiny product picture for a slide.

How to use Image Enhancer

Add one or more pictures from your device, Google Drive, Dropbox or OneDrive (JPG, PNG, WebP, HEIC and other common formats, up to 260 MB each). Choose a Look, decide whether to upscale, then press Enhance image. The enhanced picture appears on screen so you can check it before you download it.

The four Image Enhancer looks

Auto enhance is the default. It balances light, colour and detail, which suits most everyday photos. Brighten dark photo lifts the shadows in an indoor or evening shot. Vivid colours makes a flat, washed-out picture punchier, which works well for food and travel photos.

Sharpen scan / text is the one for documents. It crisps up the edges of letters and cuts some of the grain, so a phone photo of a receipt or a faded scan reads more clearly. It is a good step before OCR Image.

Upscaling small pictures

The Upscale setting has three choices: Keep size, 2× bigger and 4× bigger. Under the buttons you can see the exact pixel size you will get. If your picture is under 900 pixels wide, the tool suggests 2× by itself, because small images look soft on a laptop screen or a projector.

Upscaling cannot invent detail the camera never captured, so start from the best copy you have. When you are done, Continue with this file sends the result to Compress, Resize, Crop or Image to PDF without another upload.
