PDF to HEIC saves each page of a PDF as a HEIC image, the photo format iPhones and iPads use by default. It is useful when you want a boarding pass, a concert ticket or a floor plan sitting in your Photos app, where it is quick to find even without signal.
Add your PDF from your device, Google Drive, Dropbox or OneDrive, up to 260 MB. The Image row is at the top of the Convert to list with HEIC already chosen in its format menu. Click it and every page becomes a HEIC image. A PDF with several pages comes back as a ZIP holding one image per page.
HEIC files are usually smaller than JPGs that look about the same, so a stack of pages takes less room on a phone that is always short of storage. They show up in Photos like any other picture, so you can add them to an album, mark them as favourites or share them.
Pages saved this way are pictures, not documents. That is exactly right for tickets and reference pages, but if you need to change the wording, PDF to Word is the better route.
HEIC opens natively on Apple devices and on recent Windows and Android versions, but some older PCs and web forms still reject it. If you are sending pages to someone else, JPG is the safer format, and you can switch to it in the same format menu.
The format menu also offers PNG and TIFF. A scanned PDF converts to images just like any other, because this conversion does not need a text layer.
