How to Convert PNG to PDF (Screenshots, Diagrams and Scans)
Twelve screenshots for a bug report, six diagrams for a client review, a scanned form saved as PNG: sending them as separate images means the reader opens them one by one and may see them out of order. One PDF keeps the sequence, prints in one go and is what most portals and clients expect.
Why PNG files go into a PDF differently from photos
PNG is a lossless format: it stores every pixel exactly, which is why screenshots, charts and diagrams stay crisp as PNG, with sharp edges around text and lines. It can also hold transparency. Photos are usually JPG, which saves space by smoothing fine detail.
HuntPDF keeps that quality: your PNG images go into the PDF as PNG, without being re-compressed as JPG, so text and lines in them stay sharp.
Convert PNG to PDF, step by step
Open PNG to PDF and add your images from your device, Google Drive, Dropbox or OneDrive, up to 260 MB each. Arrange them in the order the pages should appear; it helps to name screenshots 01, 02, 03 before you add them.
With several images, choose One PDF to combine them into a single document, one image per page. Choose PDF each for a separate PDF per image. Each image is placed on an A4 page, portrait or landscape to match its shape, so wide screenshots get landscape pages. Download the result; with several images it is named after the first one with -combined on the end, so rename it to something that says what it is.
Keep screenshots readable
Take screenshots at your screen's normal size rather than zoomed out, so the text in them is large enough to read on a printed page. Crop out toolbars and empty space before converting; the content then fills more of the page.
Very tall screenshots, such as a full web page captured in one image, are shrunk to fit a single A4 page and the text can become tiny. Split those into two or three shorter captures first.
Make the text searchable
Text inside an image is not real text, even in a PDF, so you cannot search it or copy it. If the reader needs to find words, run the finished PDF through OCR PDF, which adds a searchable text layer behind each page.
Size, and adding pages later
Lossless PNG pages can make a large PDF. If it is too big to email or upload, use Compress PDF on the result. To add a cover letter or a report in front of the images, convert the images first, then combine everything with Merge PDF in the order you need.
PNG, JPG and other images together
If your set mixes PNG screenshots with JPG photos, use Image to PDF, which accepts both in one batch, or convert each set and merge the two PDFs.
